Mitel Connect - Virtual IP Phone Switch

The virtual IP Phone switch can scale up to 1000 IP Phone endpoints, and supports all IP functionality of a hardware-based voice switch including Hunt Groups, Page Groups, Monitored Extensions, Bridged Call Appearances, IP Proxy, and much more. The virtual IP Phone switch core software is provided free of charge, and only when connecting an IP Phone does it require a virtual IP Phone license per device. Note that one or more Virtual IP Phone Switches can also be configured for N+1 redundancy free of charge.

Starting with MiVoice Connect (formerly known as Connect ONSITE) build 21.86.1828.0, Mitel Connect virtual appliances will migrate from Linux Wind River to Linux CentOS operating system. This introduces changes that the administrators need to be aware of including the following:

  • SCSI Controller changes are mandatory for virtual appliance upgrades to be successful.
