minimize negative impact. Here are seven actions that you
can take during an outbreak to help lower the risk of damage
to your business.

necessary, perform a manual update)

Perform a manual scan of your computers after the software
update is successful (you can also perform scans using
an online scanner, for example Trend Micro Housecall

Visit your antivirus vendor’s Web site to learn
about the virus, and follow any additional instructions

Minimize email, instant message, or any other messaging
software communications

Refrain from connecting unnecessarily to internal or external
networks

If your computer becomes infected, consider unplugging
the computer from the network to prevent further infection

Document and report any impact or damage caused by the
outbreak to technical staff
